Verrucae are very common and can generally be self-treated with “over the counter solutions” from a pharmacist. However, some verrucae are stubborn particularly in adults and instead need professional attention.
In such cases we offer the following treatments:
- Dry Needling
A technique where the verruca is broken down using needles. Whilst the patient is under Local Anesthetic we take a small amount of the verruca to a deeper layer of the skin, allowing the body to recognise and attack it.
- Cryotherapy
We use liquid nitrogen to freeze the verruca to -196C and remove it. Local Anesthetic is used if required. This works well with small single Verrucas.
- Swift Microwave Therapy
We are pleased to advise that we offer Swift microwave therapy for the treatment of stubborn painful Verrucae. We find that this is a most effective successful way of treating stubborn Verrucas. Click on the link below to find out more about this effective way of getting rid of them!
